Summer Before Senior Year OR During Senior Year?

Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter?

This is totally up to you!

But, I am going to give you some reasons to choose one that best suites you.

It is common to schedule your senior session the summer before senior year. The reason for this is so you can have the images ready for yearbook deadlines, events relating to senior year you may have, grad cards and announcements...you get the picture! This is also helpful so you do not have to try and schedule your session around all the activities that you will have going on your senior year. It's one thing less you won't have to worry about, because let's face it, you will probably have a lot going on! And if you are wanting to wear cute sun dresses, or have your senior session on the beach, or places alike, the Summer is where it's at!

On the other hand, many seniors opt to schedule their sessions during the school year so they can get the Fall and Spring season they desire. Just remember to schedule your session at LEAST one month before you need your final images! Also, if you play a sport, it is best to schedule your senior session before or after your busy season. And It may be common knowledge, but locations do not look the same throughout the year, specifically natural locations. Nature locations make gorgeous backdrops during mid to late Spring, Summer, and early to mid Fall.

Spring and Summer are great if you ware wanting those beautiful images with flowers giving some pop of color in the foreground, or background. (My absolute favorites!)

The Fall is wonderful if you are wanting those gorgeous Fall colors! Now I will say...the Fall colors will mainly have to come from your outfit... Here in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, sadly, we do not really get that "Fall Vibe" during Fall, everything is pretty much still green at that time. BUT, do not underestimate the power of clothing options and props to help bring out that Fall look you so desire! I would say November is the best time here to schedule your Fall session, leaves are starting to fall and it is pretty in certain locations!

If you do decide to plan your senior session between December through late February, everything is still pretty much dead. So keep in mind that nature locations won't look the best, BUT urban/city locations will still look the same, you just have to keep in mind Christmas and Valentines Day decor might be displayed in some places!
